i went there and LOVED it. We stayed at some hotel in the middle of it all. Dont worry about it being noisy. Probobly a holiday inn or something. we could see the giant ferris wheel from our window… very pretty. it was in the middle of everything and me and my family were able to walk to everything

amsterdam is really nice to visit, and the pubblic transport is no problem , there are busses trams and trains. you could also think to rent a bike. I guess you won’t be annoied staying three days in amsterdam, so you can take it easy watching everything, amsterdam has a lot to offer, like the anne frank house, rijksmuseum, boat-tours on the canals, the red light district (even for women no problem to go there and watch) . Do take some warm clothes, because even in summer we have awfull weather..

four days is quite enough to visit AMS for your first time. You can stay in the city, the noise depends on how cheap your hotel is. If you have a normal hotel, you don’t have real problems about the noise. Only if you want really – really cheap, say backpacker 20 years old cheap, then you have to worry about the noise. But any other hotel in the center is no problem. It is really easy to go from airport to AMS, the train station is in schiphol airport, about 15 minutes. more than four trains an hour, less then 4 euro to AMS. Visit (dutch railways), there is a link to English.
Most foreign visitors only want to visit AMS, see rijksmuseum (google for it), for the 17th century paintings (Rembrandt), visit van Gogh museum, and of course Anne Frank. If you really don’t want to stay in AMS, consider Haarlem (15 minutes from AMS), or Utrecht (20 minutes?) See
