Where can I take a short trip from Amsterdam besides Brussels?
As in, inter country. If I go to Amsterdam for a week in the fall, I feel like that is too long to stay in that city as it is not overly huge. Where else can I visit for 2 days or so?
Thanks!

Look into den haag or utrecht.. Den haags on the beach and utrecht is a student city soo if you’re young it’ll have sweet nightlife. Both cities are in the netherlands
too add on to the person who said ryanair, there is also EasyJet.com for cheap flights. With more options. I’m pretty sure RyanAir doesn’t fly out of Amsterdam, but I could be wrong.

check out RYAN air and from amsterdam you can fly to italy or london or any other place in europe for very very cheap…. so your not limited to buses or trains.

It may be small, but Amsterdam is incredibly compact.
You could also visit some of the other Dutch cities, like Utrecht, Rotterdam, Groningen, of you could go to Dusseldorf or Cologne in Germany. You could go to Luxembourg, and Paris isn’t far away on the Thalys train.

There are a lot of interesting towns/cities/beaches in the Netherlands that are accessible by train. There’s a really good outdoor museum in Enkhuizen. Scheveningen or Zandvoort have nice beaches with lots of good places to eat. The aquarium in Scheveningen is small, but very nice. Go to Rotterdam and take the boat cruise up the river to Kinderidjk to see the windmills. Gouda, Delft, Haarlem, Alkmaar, Utrecht, Leiden and Gouda are all interesting day trips. You could also take the short train ride to the Koog-Zaandijk station and go to Zaanse Schans on your own rather than an escorted tour.
Depending on exactly when you’re going, there may be some interesting festivals in one or more of the towns.
