Are Guadi’s apartments in Barcelona Spain just for show or can you really rent them out?

And if you can really rent his mosaic apartments out then how much would they cost?

  1. Casa Milà is a real residential apartment building, with one apartment set up as a museum. All the others are owned, and no one sells them, they are handed down to relatives, and extremely valuable.

Casa Batlló, I’m pretty sure, is privately owned, but a museum. I didn’t tour it, so I couldn’t tell you if there is anything closed off for private residence, but it was built as a single family dwelling.

Parc Güell is a park. But there are some homes inside…I think they, too, are privately owned. That was the appearance. The colorful mosaic buildings at the entrance to the park are quite small, and I believe house offices of the equivalent of park rangers…the people who work there.

Other than those two, and Casa Milà, they aren’t mosaic…they are different materials. The mosaics are mostly the bench that goes around the terrace at the park, and sculptures in the park.

  2. Hi there,

Good answer below. None of the Gaudi apartments are for rent as tourist apartments if that was what you were asking about, but as the answer below mentioned, many Gaudi apartments and houses (Casa Vicens) are still privately owned and used as private residences. You can find all the details about Gaudi and his works in Barcelona here

    Saludos de Barcelona
