If you live in la Cuitat Vela, a car would just sit in its expensive parking place, for most of the time.
Almost everything you need, (except hypermarkets), is within reasonable walking distance. You may need a shopping trolley though, but that is much cheaper than a car, and some supermarkets deliver.
If you need a car, hire one.

As guiri says…in MOST cities in Spain, in fact, most of Europe, you don’t NEED a car, and you won’t use one. Public Transport is really easy and cheap. A car would sit in a parking spot, and even if you MIGHT take it for a spin, you would probably opt not to, cause you’d lose your good space.
