Apartment rent price in china and websites?
Hello, I shall be planning a trip to china soon to be with some friends, and I have some apartment questions...
1. Whats the difference between local and western style apartments?
2. How come I find 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartments for 150$ a month in shanghai, but then i look on an english site and they got one for 1,000 a month?
3. What are some websites other than soufun.com for apartment rental in china?
Thank you.
I meant on expat websites...
I meant on expat websites, why it costs so much more on those.

You can stay in a normal hotel or inn for RMB300(USD50) a night first when you arrive. There are lots of real estate offices around where you can ask for an apartment later.
USD150/month in Shanghai is not convenient and may not be safe for expat. A good apartment should be at least USD500/mo. 1 bedroom, 1 living room, 1 bathroom, a small dining and kitchen.
A local apartment nowadayas(in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou) is almost the same as western.

In Shijiazhuang City, my friend rents a 42 sq meter apartment w/ 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a living rm and kitchen/dining rm for 300 yuan a month. That’s less than $50. In big cities, of course it’s much more expensive
